Pearls from Nashville

Today I was listening to “shuffle” on my ipod and the song “I am a Town” by Mary Chapin Carpenter came up. As I was getting lost in the poetry of one of my old favorites, I started to remember a show I was at watching Don Schlitz at the Bluebird Café (Don for a dollar was the name of his show)from when I lived in Nashville. He performs songs he’s helped write. They’re hits most country and non-country fans have heard like “The Gambler” by Kenny Rogers and “I Feel Lucky” by Mary Chapin. During a break in his show, I got to talk with him and I expressed how much I loved Mary Chapin’s album “Come On Come On,” a cd which he contributed several co-writes to on the album.
